"The clay we use was developed with the help of Jon Brooks and Joe Koons at Laguna Clay. My goal was to refine my original clay formula to the demands of short lead times (4 to 8 weeks) for products weighing up to 400lbs. It took a year or so to work out some serious kinks, cracking during the drying process, dunting, warping and thermal shock. I ended up with a clay body that stands up to stresses of our product demand. I really appreciate the encouragement and the technical assistance I got from the Laguna Clay staff. I could not have done it with them.
We use a variety of glazes and finishes on our products. Virtually all of our glaze material comes from Laguna. Like most potters we do a lot of glaze and slip experiments and Laguna glazes and slips over, under or mixed with our glazes can have startling results.
